As with many supply chain or component manufacturers, the initial SEO Challenge is to define the correct Google Footprint for this web so Google will direct the best quality traffic. It took EC Center 3 months to define the footprint, which was longer than expected. In most sectors, this can be achieved in 1 month if there is SEO Neutrality (there has been no Blackhat SEO by the previous supplier).
Our SEO Strategy with this project was to create high-quality product content with detailed information and specifications and surround it with high-quality Blog Content. Despite receiving excellent quality product and blog content from the project owners, the web did NOT respond as expected in the SERPs. There was another delay of some months before seeing a very small growth in SEO traffic.
EC Center maintained constant communication with the project owners during this time to advise them of the issue and the measures we were taking. EC Center updated the platform code (EC Engine), and the design code and reoptimized the product and blog content, BUT with little or no effect. It was clear that there was no effective communication with Google, and we suspected that the domain "sindhmachining.com" was blacklisted or sandboxed by Google.
We Changed the (SUB) Domain!
- EC Center then took the decision to update the domain name from "sindhmahining.com" to "www.sindhmachining.com".
- Communication with Google was re-established IMMEDIATELY !
- The Google Footprint was consolidated, the SEO Traffic started to rise as expected, and we started receiving SEO Contacts.
- EC Center also extended the service period for this project at no extra cost to compensate for the time lost in the project's initial phase.
So what had happened?
SEO is not an exact science; there is no magic formula, and when things do not go to plan, you need the knowledge and expertise to adapt or change your SEO Strategy. The great value add of EC Center is that we have the knowledge and the resources to solve any SEO problem.
In this project, we had seen early on how the original domain "sindhmachining.com" had already given us problems in the "footprint phase", and we had seen a lot of "pull" from Google towards an unrelated area of the SERP.
We also saw a complete lack of communication (Googlebots) for quality Whitehat SEO Content on a proven SEO Platform with a fast and agile SEO Design.
All this suggested that Google had "blacklisted" or "sandboxed" this domain (sindhmachining.com), possibly due to the Negative SEO Behavior of the previous owner of this domain name. EC Center could not find any evidence of the behavior of the domain prior to its registration with the new owners, but what is clear is that once we changed the domain from "sindhmachining.com" to "www.sindhmachining.com" a normal (SEO Neutral) communication with Google was re-established immediately and the project behaved as we expected from that time onwards.
