As a leading supplier of high-quality scarves to many well-known western retail stores, the SEO challenge for this project was to use Google SEO in addition to the current Alibaba store to generate more B2B Contacts and Leads.
The configuration of the product database was complex due to the enormous range of products and the many configuration options. We also had the challenge that all the products we were optimizing for already existed in Alibaba with the same pictures and names/descriptions.
SEO positioning for short-tailed keywords in ENGLISH was slow and arduous given the enormous B2B and B2C competition for "silk scarves", "woolen scarves", etc., . We changed product names and descriptions to differentiate our pages and products from the existing Alibaba store. Despite the challenges we achieved many #1 positions such as "wool
scarf manufacturers".
We also saw SEO Success with more unusual keywords such as "wool
shemagh" and "modal
hijab," and of course, the SEO positioning in non-English languages proved to be much easier.
This was a challenging project due to the duplication with the Alibaba store and the generic nature of the target keywords, which require much more time to position due to the enormous competition from both B2B and B2C sites for these keywords.
